Ibadan Stands Still for CCII President-General, Ajewole, as He Bags Prestigious "Omo Ibadan To Peregede Julo" Award

 


Ibadan witnessved a grand celebration today, as the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Barr. Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, was honored with the award of "Omo Ibadan to Peregede Julo" by the Southern Women Empowerment Forum. The event, held on Wednesday, October 3rd, at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, attracted dignitaries from diverse sectors, underlining the immense respect and admiration Chief Ajewole commands.


The award, which translates to "the most distinguished child of Ibadan," was a testament to Ajewole's remarkable achievements and his tireless dedication to the progress of Ibadan. Thousands of women supported by the empowerment group gathered at the venue, adding to the atmosphere of appreciation and celebration.


In her address while presenting the award, the National President of the organization, Dr. Helen Taiwo Adebakin, emphasized that the honor was in recognition of Chief Ajewole's outstanding and unparalleled contributions to the development of Ibadan since he assumed office. She praised his leadership, noting how his efforts have positively impacted the socio-economic landscape of the city, making him an exemplary role model for Ibadan indigenes and beyond.


In his acceptance speech, Chief Barr. Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole expressed his deep gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the award to all indigenes of Ibadan who have supported him in his journey. "This honor belongs to the people of Ibadan, and and my team, who have continuously shown their faith in my leadership," Ajewole said. He also acknowledged the Southern Women Empowerment Forum for their tireless efforts in empowering women and promoting economic development, stating, "Your dedication to uplifting women is truly commendable, and I am humbled to be recognized by such an inspiring organization."


Chief Ajewole reaffirmed his commitment to the continued growth and prosperity of Ibadan, saying, "This recognition serves as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done. I pledge to keep striving for the betterment of our beloved city, ensuring that every individual feels the positive impact of our collective progress."
