Sisters of Jannah Ibadan Zone Celebrates outgoing Executive Team and Welcomes New Leadership

The Sisters of Jannah Ibadan Zone recently held a formal handover ceremony at the Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao Mosque, Iwo Road, Ibadan, on 5th October 2024, marking the transition to a new executive team. The event was officiated by Hon. Fasilat Adesina, a representative of the national body, and highlighted the accomplishments of the outgoing executives while ushering in a new era of leadership.

The outgoing coordinator, Alhaja Kadijah Olatorera Rufai, reflected on the achievements of the past executive team. "We embarked on initiatives that touched many lives," Alhaja Rufai stated, highlighting projects such as providing meals for inmates during the last ten days of Ramadan, organizing the "Mop Up" initiative to distribute essential items to villages, raising awareness about cancer through subsidized screenings, and supporting the education of members' children with the Back-to-School program. The completion of the Fada Mosque and other empowerment activities also underscored the outgoing team's dedication to the community.

The outgoing executive team consisted of:

The newly elected coordinator, Mrs. Basirat Moyosore Afolabi Hamzat, expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm in her acceptance speech. "I am honored to take on this responsibility and follow in the footsteps of those who have set a high standard of service," she said. Mrs. Hamzat outlined her vision for the Sisters of Jannah Ibadan Zone, focusing on expanding outreach programs and fostering unity among members.

"Our goal is to build on the foundations laid by the past leaders, ensuring that our community-driven initiatives continue to flourish," Mrs. Hamzat remarked. She emphasized the importance of inclusivity and collective efforts in driving change. "We will continue to empower our members, provide support where needed, and ensure that no one is left behind."
