Olubadan installs CCII President General Ajeniyi Ajewole as the new Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland, promises more commitment to Ibadan interest



The President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII, Chief Barr Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole is the new Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland and his wife, Alhaja Alirat Abimbola Ajewole becomes the Yeye Atunluse of Ibadanland. 

The conferment of the Aare  Atunluse chieftaincy title on the CCII President General took place on Saturday 7th December by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin Ige Olakulehin 1 at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

The ceremony which was witnessed by prominent Ibadan sons and daughters threw the entire palace into jubilation as it was regarded as a recognition of outstanding service of the honoree to Ibadanland.



The new Aare Atunluse, Ajeniyi Ajewole, in his acceptance speech appreciated Olubadan, Olubadan in council and the entire Ibadan Indigenes for finding him worthy of the title and honour.

The CCII President General assured Ibadan people of his renewed commitment to pursuing all interests of Ibadan at all times.

Chief Ajewole submitted that the much desired Ibadan state will continue to be a top priority of his administration at CCII, "and by the grace of God, it would soon become a reality", he added. 

It was during the tenure of Chief Barr Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole as President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII that the long abandoned Olubadan Palace was completed and the current Olubadan moved into palace

The highly elated wife of the President General, Alhaja Alirat Abimbola Ajewole, who was installed as the Yeye Atunluse of Ibadanland also expressed her admiration and appreciation to Ibadanland for the recognition bestowed on her family.

The last Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland was the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senate Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi.
