The family of Dr. L A Balogun, the Baba Isale Adinni of Awotan has been celebrated as the Muslim Model Family for the year 2023 by the Muslim Association of Nigeria,(MAN), Ibadan branch.

The family, according to the organisers, which was chosen after a careful selection and screening process, was publicly presented, celebrated and decorated by the Muslim community as a worthy family and good representative of the Muslim community.

Responding on behalf of the family, Dr. L. A Balogun, a former Commissioner for Special Duties in Oyo state, two term Vice President General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII and one time Deputy Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan accompanied by his wife, Alhaja Sherifat, appreciated the organizers for the honour done his family and promised to uphold those good qualities identified in his family.

Speaking at the occasion of the Annual Eid-l-fitri Funfair and Muslim Family of the Year Celebration of the Muslim Association of Nigeria, MAN, Ibadan branch, the chairman, Alh. Rahman Olawale Abdul Ganiy appreciated the family for being a role model for the Muslim community and encouraged others to emulate those good virtues associated with Dr. L A Balogun’s family.

In his lecture at the event, the Guest Speaker, Shayk Abdul Kareem Adeleke, National Missioner, Jammatu Islamiyah of Nigeria emphasized the need for steadfastness among Muslims in the practice of the religion of Islam, this he said, would enable them to be outstanding and exemplary wherever they find themselves under the sun.

Shayk Adeleke, who spoke on “Being a Muslim in a multi religious Country: Issues and Challenges” explained that in spite of numerous challenges faced by Muslims in a multi religious country like Nigeria, they must just remain shinning examples for others to emulate.

He urged Muslim parents to instill Islamic principles and tenets in their children at the early stage for them to emerge as responsible followers and leaders in the future.

Present at the event among others were, Chief Bayo Oyero and Alh Waheed Akin Olajide, who are both Trustees of the Muslim Association of Nigeria.
