President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII Chief Barr Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole has described people from the south south part of Nigeria as ever warm and hospitable especially to people from other parts of the country.

Chief Ajewole made this remark while playing host to a delegation from the Braced Development Association, Oyo State( Association of Indigenes of South South Nigeria) in his office at Ibadan house, Oke Aremo

The CCII President General who recalled his experience as a Youth Corps member in the old Cross river state with joy and happiness said the warmness and hospitality of the people of the area remained fresh in his memory till date.

He explained that some of those people he met  at that time ( 1983-84) are still his good friends up till the present moment.

Chief Ajewole assured the delegation of the readiness and determination of his leadership to ensuring a robust and meaningful relationship between Ibadan and the south south people in the city and the state at large

The President General disclosed that he had dealings with people from Rivers, Edo and other parts of the zone without any regret and  declared that his  door is open for cooperation and collaboration with them

While presenting his speech, the leader of the team, His Royal Highness, Otuekong Michael Obasohan, JP applauded the CCII for it’s long standing contribution to the wellbeing of Indigenes and non Indigenes of Ibadanland and in particular “the dynamism and dexterity brought into the CCII by Ajewole administration”

The South South leader who described their visit as that of solidarity sought the assistance of CCII in some areas to make the association wax stronger

The CCII President General assured them of the readiness of his administration to supporting them in seeing their needs met by both the State government and Olubadan of Ibadanland

The South South team which was drawn from all the states from the region was enjoined to be ready to be actively involved in all Ibadan activities including this year’s Ibadan cultural festival slated for April
